GLUTEN + NUT FREE
Step One
Start with making the apples. Peel and roughly chop them. You can use sliced apples, but I just like the unfussyness of chopped apples. Place them in a large bowl and cover with the apple cider (or apple juice), sugar, flour, vanilla, and spices.
Step Two
In the same bowl, stir together with a fork the oats, flour, sugar, and melted butter. Use a fork or your hands to mix this together, making sure to leave some of it clumpy.
Step Three
Bake this uncovered for about 35 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the crisp is golden brown. Remove it from the oven and let it rest for about 10 to 15 minutes.
